Hael & Isaac story

Hael & Isaac story

I did not want to end the year without telling the story of two beautiful souls that I had the unexpected chance to meet a few months ago.
These are Hael and Isaac, a very young couple of farmers from Frontoi, a tiny village in deep rural Galicia where pastures are lush green and autochthonous millenary trees bunch up at the riverbanks.
Hael is a brave woman that one day had to make a hard life choice. Before passing away, her father asked her to take care of his beloved bull Tobei.
After so much thinking, putting important things in the balance, she and her partner Isaac, decided to leave their office jobs, their lives in the city and continue Hael's father farming tradition. So this is how they started a new, very different life in the countryside.
They had to learn everything about farming, how to take care of the animals, adapt to their schedules, work continuous shift, make new friends... Everything new and everything so different. But once you listen to them, you can feel the love in their words when they talk about each one of the animals (each has a name of their own), how lucky they feel to live in a small village where everyone help each other as much as they can, gather together to keep the fields and the watermill in good condition....
Life in community takes on a more human dimension. Here they get to live in harmony with the environment, their neighbours and the animals.
This might seem an idyllic unrealistic story, but it is actually true.
I wanted to share it with you since it seems to me the perfect conforting final touch to bring this year to an end.
All my best wishes for the New Year!
Laura
